Group 3 was responsible for talking about the topic of Racism. Not only did we talk about Racism as a whole but we also talked about it around the world how it affects us and how it is implemented in the justice system.  I was responsible for talking about racism in the United States justice system. I Explained how In the united states the racism in the justice system starts with police and incarcerations. Even though people of African American descent commit the same crimes as white people at a similar rate those of African American descent are far more likely to be incarcerated for those same crimes. Also throughout my studies, I found out they are also far more likely to be stopped for minor traffic convictions and just in general. I also brought up the fact that police presence is lower in most bad neighborhoods as opposed to good ones. Lastly, in my portion of the presentation, I also talked about how there is racism in courtrooms. My studies showed me that when a black man co...

Group 3 spoke on the topic of racism. We elaborated on the different aspects of racism as a whole. My topic was the current issue of racism. I spoke on the current hate groups that exist in the United States such as the Ku Klux Klan, The Proud Boys, and the Neo Nazis. All these groups were created with the sole purpose to hate on anyone that was not white. These groups are run by both men and women, except the Proud Boys. The Proud Boys are a hate group that not only dislike minorities but homosexuals, and are anti-immigration, anti-Muslimism, and have shown support for rape. This now popular hate group has been deemed a terrorist group in Canada. The KKK, also known as the Ku Klux Klan, is another infamous hate group that have been known to mostly attack African Americans but also attacks Jews, immigrants, and homosexuals like The Proud Boys. This hate group has been around for decades unlike The Proud Boys that have been around for only a handful of years.      My group...

Hispanic Racism in the United States.

Racism towards Hispanics has always existed, from the past times to the present, and it is something that must be faced because the last few years it has been out of control. The new reforms that have been taken towards Hispanics, be it the separation of families or the construction of the walls on the border, have unleashed bad reactions in Hispanic communities in the United States and many communities are upset about it. There are thousands of Hispanic people in the United States who do not have documentation, and who are constant victims of racism on the part of Americans. Hispanic and Latino people have made great contributions to the arts and sciences, as well as providing a major workforce that continues to build and support what we now call the United States. The majority of Hispanics are U.S.-born and Latino immigration has been declining markedly in the last decade. Yet some Hispanics whose family roots in America date back centuries are still asked, especially if the...

The Racism in other Latin American countries by Saleen & Viena The Dominican Republic and Brazil are home to the largest Afro- Latino communities. Racism in The Dominican Republic by Viena Zamora Racism in the Dominican Republic exists due to the after-effects of slavery and the African Diaspora. Approximately 90% of Dominicans have some extent of African descent, however, few people self-identify as being black. Only 4.13% of Dominicans identified themselves as black while the majority, 82% identified as "Indio". "Indo" is a term to mean in-between "whiteness" and "blackness", so not explicitly black despite the facts that many Dominicans possess physical features much more similar to Africans. In the Dominican Republic, "blackness" is often associated with being Haitian and those who possess more African-like phenotypic features are often victims of discrimination. The discrimination Haitians and Dominicans of darker skin tone e...

Group 3 presented about racism about the different topics that is brought up and how it effects everyone individually and not only in the United States but also around the world. In my presentation I talked about the current issues of racism in the United States that many people are dealing with this currently. One of the issues that is brought up was some of the statistics that is happening currently. For an example it would be that the leading cause of killing black men would be the police and that black people are 3.5 times likely to be killed by cops. A group was created to show this problem around the world which is called Black Lives Matter which talks about the police brutality that happens and has taken many black lives and police officers are not held accountable. I also brought over the fact that covid-19 has taken more black people in the community compared to the white community they are 3.5 times likely to die from covid-19 and this is because of the health insurance...
