Group 3 was responsible for talking about the topic of Racism. Not only did we talk about Racism as a whole but we also talked about it around the world how it affects us and how it is implemented in the justice system. I was responsible for talking about racism in the United States justice system. I Explained how In the united states the racism in the justice system starts with police and incarcerations. Even though people of African American descent commit the same crimes as white people at a similar rate those of African American descent are far more likely to be incarcerated for those same crimes. Also throughout my studies, I found out they are also far more likely to be stopped for minor traffic convictions and just in general. I also brought up the fact that police presence is lower in most bad neighborhoods as opposed to good ones.
